 Tuban 

Tuban is the original village between the Airport and Kuta. It's a lovely beachfront area, somewhat sheltered from the surf by a reef (surfable reef that is). The area houses some of the nicest resorts in the whole Kuta area, some with acres of tropical gardens, huge pools and luxury rooms.
Tuban is constantly developing with tourist facilities, with classy restaurants, Waterbom Park, shopping centres, nightlife and even McDonalds.
To walk from the Bali Hai Resort and Spa to Kuta Square should take about half an hour, otherwise an inexpensive taxi might be a more tempting option.
