One of the best known and most photographed temples in Bali, the temple, Pura Tanah Lot, sits out on a small rock just out to sea, accessible only at low tide. Although it’s a sacred temple to the Balinese, it’s a tourist trap also, with souvenir shop piled on top of souvenir shop. There'll probably be someone offering you an opportunity to see a sea snake in a cave too. The temple itself is spectacular and worthy of photographs as the sun reddens the sky and sets behind it.
Easiest way to get here is to take a tour, such as the day Tanah Lot Tour.
