Have to say I was very disappointed in this hotel. The room was dark and the linen not clean!!! The (shower) water was dangerously boiling and the pool was milky white. Much prefer the Kumal Pantai or Jayakarta for this area.

The best things about the Puri Raja is the pool Bar and the friendliness of the staff, which made for the ultimate relaxing break. I found the room to be ageing a bit, yet it was still comfortable and clean, with a fantastic balcony. It was a little bit out of the way from the hustle and bustle of the shops and clubs, yet straight across the road from the beach!! the best way to have it! Thanks Puri Raja for making our holiday so wonderful!

Fabulous stay third time to Bali and loved this place we had our children and they made great friends with staff, we are going back next year. August 06 they open after a revamp which will be great as they were in need of it, bottom floor and close to the pool is the best. We were very disappointed with Jayakarta after staying here,

We loved this place! Super location right on Legian beach front. It's recently had a significant upgrade & the rooms were fresh & modern. By far the best beds & bath rooms we've had in Bali too!! The bar & restaurant have also been upgraded & are now two storey. The top decks a great place to watch the sun set. Reasonable prices for pool bar snacks & room service that compare with local resteraunts. The staff were great & our fellow guests were fun & friendly. This hotel has a fun relaxed social atmosphere & we made many friends. Puri Raja is great for kids & the baby sitting service was superb! We'll be going straight to the Puri Raja next time!

This small Hotel is excellent value for money! The renovation I gather has been huge and the room had a fantastic huge king size plus bed- clean newly tiled bathroom and a great balcony that you could enjoy with the sun! With 2 pools either end of the complex you are well covered and no need to rush out and place that towel!! The breakfast was ordered at your table which was differnet from the buffet and excellent- maybe not as extensive as others BUT value for money stay> Recomend and wold return. Might need to add a few tv chanels or get in DVD players but no complaints!

Stayed there for the first time this year. The hotel was beautifully clean, but then it had just be renovated. Would stay there again, rooms are very nice, especially the deluxe rooms near to the pool. We only stayed in that for one night!

Spent four or so days there and thought it was terrific, it was my first trip to Bali and wasn't expecting such a fantastic escape from the chaos that is downtown legian Would totally recommend it.

Being an Indonesian (no money in your pocket)born Iam, most of the time, Indonesian hotel staff would look at you funny when you walk into places where "Bule" only used to go. unless if you look chinese (lots of money in your pocket). Puri Raja was an exception. I was there with my ex Kiwi girlfriend (she is now my wife). as soon as we walk in, that ear to ear smile warmly welcomes you, no funny look, no BS. As the result, I was more then happy to spent most of my Bintang drinking time at the pool bar rather then risk myself getting that funny look someplace else. Now, to all my fellow expats, If you looking for a place to unwind after a hard year that gives equal treatment beetwen you and your "Bule" partner, I've found a place for you back home. and that place is Puri Raja. We have stayed at Puri Raja several times over the last 6 years. It is currently under a major overhaul and is not open for business. It is due to re-open with larger rooms and new pool's around August 06. Kamala Pantai is just up the road, and better value for money, however we look forward to seeing the new, and better Puri Raja, and will definately give it a try again.

Absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were great very friendly & helpful. We met some great people around the pool bar. Going again 2007 - will definetly stay here again (once they reopen with the new decor & pools) looking forward to it....

Stayed here after having to move because other hotel was full. Was very dissappointed with our room, very dated and tired.This hotel was closing in Feb 2006 for renovations which are long overdue. The pool area was lovely but still not nice enough for us to want to return

We thoroughly enjoyed our 7 night stay at the Puri Raja. It did not seem long enough - we enjoyed the pool and being able to walk along the beach to other restaurants. The staff were magnificent and being able to have a massage and manicure on site was fantastic and the rates were very cheap. The food was great if you wanted to eat in and the opportunity to meet other travellers around or in the pool was superb. A great choice but we do not people are booking a new holiday as they book out. We hope to go back next year.
